Nebius Token Factory in Production: Running Open Models HonestlyNebius Token Factory in Production: Running Open Models Honestly

Nebius Token Factory (launched November 2025) is managed hosted inference across 60+ open models behind one OpenAI-compatible API, a different shape of product from a self-hostable container: no GPU to provision, but also no weights on your own hardware. This course teaches what matters once you're past 'call the API': when an open model on Token Factory actually beats a frontier API on cost and latency, and how to check the catalog's own dated deprecation notices instead of trusting any snapshot, including this course's own. Every model name and claim here was checked against Nebius's own current docs at authoring time, and this course names its own catalog drift where it found it, including a dated deprecation this site's own prior lesson is already exposed to. Nobody paid for this course: Rod teaches a module for Nebius Academy, and that relationship is disclosed on this page, not hidden. A planned lesson on fine-tuning was cut rather than shipped generic: no first-party Rod fine-tuning receipt exists yet, and this program's refusal rule means a lesson without one doesn't get written (RULING-213).

What You'll Learn

  • What Nebius Token Factory actually is, how it differs from a self-hostable product like NVIDIA NIM, and how to check whether a model name (in this course or anywhere else) is still current before you build on it
  • Work through a cost/latency decision framework for a real workload, instead of trusting a headline vendor claim like '26x cheaper' that describes someone else's traffic
  • Query Token Factory's own live model list and dated deprecation notices, and read a real example of this site's own prior code already exposed to a scheduled model retirement

Prerequisites

  • No programming experience required for lesson 01's orientation
  • Comfort reading Python from lesson 02 onward; code samples are real, runnable code, not pseudocode
  • A Nebius Token Factory API key (free sign-up at tokenfactory.nebius.com) for anyone following the code directly
